Interpretation

* Simultaneous * Consecutive * Ad hoc
Simultaneous interpreting is essential for large audiences, such as conferences. The stress on the interpreter is very high, therefore they usually work as a pair in thirty-minute intervals. While booking, you should therefore allow for paying double, so our performance must certainly be worth your money. All our simultaneous interpreters are qualified professionals with lots of experience behind them. Some of them specialise in a particular sector of business, e.g. Banking or Oil and Gas. Microphones, earphones and booths are provided by a third party. For that purpose we use reliable contractors with whom we have long-term relationships.
Consecutive interpreting may be a less stressful but nonetheless challenging occupation. The interpreter can, of course, ask for clarifications if he or she misses the point but should not do it too often in order not to disrupt the flow of conversation. In some ways the task can be even more difficult than simultaneous as it requires from the interpreter to retain in mind larger chunks of information as some speakers don't actually care to make too frequent pauses in their orations. In this case, however, to book just one interpreter for the event should be enough. But please make sure he or she knows what it is going to be about. The more reference materials you supply to the interpreter in advance, the more confident he or she will be on the job.
Ad hoc interpreting means that the client might actually not need the interpreter's services at all times, or the client may have some knowledge of the target language and request the interpreters services only to facilitate the understanding of the other party. In such cases, what the most valuable interpreter's quality would be tactfulness and ability to be helpful without seeming obtrusive. Not everyone can cope with that nervous task. Fortunately we can help.

Languages
As mentioned in our home page, we started as an English-Russian translation business. Very soon we discovered that the Russian-speaking community included many of those for whom Russian was not their first language. Therefore we decided that we should be more diversified in addressing people's individual needs. Consequently, apart from Russian interpreting, we started to offer services for those who came from neighbouring countries Lithanian, Latvian, Polish, Romanian etc). And then we thought, Why not cover other languages as well? So, nowadays, we can not only provide you with a Russian interpreter (which remain our strong point!) but also an expert almost in any other language spoken in the world - thanks to our extensive freelancer database.
